| Almost twenty
government agencies will be on hand to answer citizen questions at the City
Council's Open Forum for residents of Planning District 7. Planning District
7 includes the St.Claude/St. Roch, and Desire/Florida neighborhoods. "The St. Claude/St. Roch and Desire/Florida neighborhoods are among the hardest hit in the City," said planner Deron Brown. "And yet residents are coming back. Many have put trailers on their properties and are renovating their homes. We must provide these citizens with all the resources government can offer to help bring them home sooner." Agencies that will be on hand include the Army Corps of Engineers, FEMA, EPA, DEQ, the Louisiana Recovery Authority, the Louisiana Recovery School District, Safetry & Permits, the NOPD, the NOFD, the Criminal Sheriff's office, the Civil Sheriff's office, Neighborhood One, NORD, Dept of Public Works, RTA, the Sewerage & Water Board, Entergy, BellSouth, Cox Communications, the Orleans Parish School Board, the New Orleans Health Department and HANO. The Planning District 7 Open Forum will be held Saturday, July 29 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.at Holy Angels Convent, 3500 St. Claude Ave. For more information call 588-9068. |
